The French word for Landscaper is Paysagiste, which also means Landscape Painter. Although there is little chance that I will produce a masterpiece on canvas, the idea that there is a kind of artistry in the conception and development of an outside space is very appealing.
From a few inspired ideas and rough sketches, we can create a variety of outdoor places...
terraces and courtyards, gardens and orchards.
Living between the Corbières Hills and the Black Mountains of the Minervois in the Aude region of Languedoc Roussillion, much of my work is in or around Carcassonne and Narbonne, and in the many villages that link these two historic towns together.
The region's Mediterranean climate (typically: long, warm, dry summers and mild, wet winters) affects our decisions and needs when planning outside layouts.
Likewise, maintenance must respond to these factors; pruning, pollarding and watering-systems will keep the spirit of your garden (as well as your plants!) alive.
